ST. MAARTEN ACADEMY SCHOOLS – TEACHER B DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (PLANNING, DEVELOPING, ADVISING, FACILITATING, COORDINATING, EVALUATING, REFLECTING, REPORTING)
In summary, Teacher B teaches a specific subject area and guides the students through the curriculum with respect and professionalism; has responsibility for own professional development, competence development, contributes towards the school development, giving direction to and support to students, colleagues, and education support staff. The Teacher B functions as Guidance Counselor, Remedial Teacher, mentor, ICT Coordinator, Job-training Coordinator
The Teacher B will:
Have knowledge and experience in various didactic methods and techniques for application and will keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of study
Bring the hands-on experiences to the classroom and work with groups and individuals
Plan various conferences with parents
Plan subject matter and adapt to meet students’ needs
Evaluate and track the student(s) closely
Reflect seriously on students results, compare results, and make recommendation
Play an active role in and out of school activities
Report quarterly on students’ progress
Prepare an annual report
In relation to Content and Educational Student Care Teacher B will:
- Steer the group dynamic process
- Have knowledge of multiple intelligences
- Observe, identify problems and find solutions
- Have knowledge of the home situation
- Have conferences with both student and parent regularly
- Have pro-active knowledge of student development
- In relation to Promotion and Competence Development, - ---- Teacher B will submit to self-reflection
- Participate in intervention, colleague consultation, coaching etc.
- Cooperate and participate in improving activities
In relation to Coordination of tasks, Teacher B will:
- Have the responsibility for a specific functional task and will perform coordinating activities
- Lead work-groups
- Assist with special projects within and outside of school on school behalf
In relation to Content and Educational Student Care Teacher B will:
-Report to the principal
-Report to head of the department

Skills Required
- Master’s Degree in Education from a recognized and accredited - -- ------ University is required
- Teaching Diploma
- Must have at least 3 - 5 years experience at the CAPE level
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Must have excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well in a team environment as well as lead the team
- Committed to excellence
- Highly professional and confidential attitude
- Perform any other related duties as required by the Management and - -- - Board of F.A.V.E.
- Preference for a Dutch citizen or legal resident of St. Maarten
